Rut-roh

I am spotting, gearing up for AF. Normally, this would be a very exciting thing for someone on pins and needles to start an IVF cycle, but, my calendar is all based on Sean starting a new sperm cycle on November 20th. Once AF comes, I am supposed to go for suppression check and start stims, so I am about 2 weeks too early with the bleeding...

Did I mention it's only cycle day 20? I have not had a normal period in months & I think my body is protesting.

I have no idea what this is going to mean for this cycle...

In other news, while phone banking for the Obama campaign, I ran into my the woman who lives across the street. We were chatting for a bit about life and laughing how we never see each other and then run into each other while working for Obama. She has 24 month old twins and sure enough, IVF! We traded war stories for a little bit and bonded. Who knew?

Speaking of Obama, I can't wait for Election Day. We have been obsessed with this election. I think I may have post-election let down when it is all over! Obama/Biden '08!

*******UPDATE**********
Just heard from the nurse and she thinks it is "normal, breakthrough" bleeding. I go on Wednesday for another mock transfer, just to "check things out." Should be on track to start stims on Nov. 6th. Fingers crossed!

You can probably ask them to keep you on the bcp longer to prolong this next cycle in case it's AF, I would think!

GOOD LUCK!!!

After 2 years of TTC and several procedures and tests for me always coming back normal, we just received our SA results and were devastated to learn that my husband has almost no motility (81% level D sperm). Of course we have to wait weeks to get in to see an RE to understand our options and in the meantime I am FREAKING OUT. I am constantly scouring the internet to try to make sense of this and determine our chances and I was hoping you could help me? My gut tells me he would be considered severe MFI, and our only hope is probably IVF/ICSI, but how does motility affect the quality of the sperm - why aren't they moving? Are they dead? Our state has no insurance coverage so we are on our own and I'm so scared that we'll get roped into more expensive tests etc. Its pretty clear this is the reason we are not getting pregnant on our own, do I have the right to bypass additional tests (that slow everything down and rack up $$$) and just dive right into treatment?

Do you have any suggestions on questions to ask when I do see the RE? Like, I've read a lot of times they will try to prescribe antibiotics or testosterone and it very rarely helps. Do you have any tips or lessons learned?

I'm sorry this post was so long and a little crazy, but this is truly the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with and I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance, for reading. I feel slightly better just purging all that.

Stupid AF -- never comes when you want her too! I hope she stays away a bit longer.

And GO OBAMA!!! I am so anxious about the election!

Just came across your site and wanted to say good luck. I can relate to the old AF curse. I'm the opposite right now, waiting for her to show and her refusing. She is SOOO frusterating! hang in there. I hope your cycle starts soon!!

Breakthrough bleeding is the worst!!! I hope your appointment goes well and that's all it is. Ugggg. Keep us updated.

Here's where I get my blog backgrounds. They are all so cute, the worst part is deciding which one to use! :)

She never does cooperate, does she?? Ditto with Christi on the BCPs-they should help hold off AF. Yay for a mock transfer next Wednesday! Only 5 more days!

Thanks for the shout out to me below in your "Big Puffy Heart" post. I'll try to put it up on my blog soon! Hope I'm still on the Disney invite list!

Sounds like everything is on the right track in spite of the breakthrough. Thinking of you and hoping for the best. I'll be following along!
